Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a new venture in 2019 here at Richardson’s Farm and Market. The idea behind this approach to growing food is that the consumer purchases a share in the harvest before the season starts. This allows us to have money in the bank to pay for seed, plants, and other input costs. We then provide you with a weekly box of produce once we start harvesting. You are partnering with us in sharing both the risk and the bounty of farming.

There are a few options to choose from depending on what kind of produce you would like to receive, how large a share you can use and how long you would like to receive a box. We have been partnering with other local producers that we know and trust for a number of years, buying their produce to provide our farmers’ market customers with greater variety than what we grow on our own. Some of these partnerships include: Fisherville Greenhouse (greenhouse beefsteak tomatoes, grape tomatoes, english cucumbers), Blueberry Knoll Farm (blueberries) and DeVries Fruit Farm (cherries, peaches, plums, apples).

We plan to continue these partnerships but are also excited to partner with Shared Harvest, a local certified organic farm to expand the variety of produce that each of us are able to provide. We believe this will result in a well rounded selection of fruits and vegetables for you to enjoy throughout the growing season. Click here for more information about our box o’ produce!
